IPPTG

European Council of General Aviation Support (ECOGAS) and

International Professional Pilots Training Group (IPPTG)

What do they provide?

  • Established as a European association, recognised and accepted by EASA.
  • Members of both the EASA Advisory Board (EAB) and the SSCC. These are the major industry representation bodies able to influence the EASA rule making process.
  • Active involvement in key SSCC working groups which drive the rule changes at the practical level, prior to presentation to the EASA management board, via SSCC.
  • Very strong links with other European associations and the ECOGAS main board is represented by many of the main European member states and some non EU members.
  • ECOGAS and its pilot training arm the IPPTG  are working in conjunction with the EBAA to ensure that between us we cover all disciplines without duplication.
  • ECOGAS and IPPTG are not for profit organisation. The membership fees are pitched at a low level so that we can meet the costs of supporting the necessary meetings, working groups and provide a secretariat for members.
  • ECOGAS now has a website with a members only area and this is being launched in November 2011 www.ecogas.aero
  • ECOGAS and IPPTG are fortunate to have key industry representatives with many years of experience and they are well respected by both their own NAA’s and EASA.
  • IPPTG is the future of training in Europe and its membership is growing rapidly. It is vital for everyone to play their part in the process of helping to shape our future legislation and its implementation in each member state. Where necessary we must lobby at national regulator level, member state level and at a European Community level to address our strategic objectives.
  • ECOGAS is the growing voice of maintenance for General Aviation and through our associations we represent several hundred companies. There are still 5-10 years of legislation to complete in our sector and we must be active in every element if we are to make sure that rule making is proportionate to the risk. We must focus the regulators on the concept of risk based oversight to generate simple rules for simple products, or simple products with equivalent rules.
